PINs to Replace Passwords for Account Security
Nsight Telservices takes the responsibility of protecting our customers’ personal information very seriously. As an added layer of security, we’re asking you to set up a 6-digit PIN (personal identification number) to be used for account authorization. This PIN will be used to verify you as the FRP (financially responsible party) identity when a call or chat is initiated by you for account information or for account changes. Please note that we will never call you to ask for your PIN; we will only request this information when you reach out to us.

How do I choose a PIN?
The purpose of a PIN is to protect your personal information, so a phone number, birth date, social security number, or other numbers that could be easily figured out by someone else should never be used. There are only a few requirements for setting up your PIN.

  • Must be 6 digits
  • Cannot be the same number, such as 000000 or 777777
  • Cannot be sequential numbers (ascending or descending), such as 123456 or 987654

See the FAQ for more information on keeping personal information secure.

FAQ

Why do I need a PIN?
A PIN is an added layer of security; it prevents unauthorized access to your accounts and your personal information. Asking for your PIN when you contact us is our way to verify your identity as the account holder.

What happens if I don’t set up a PIN?
If you don’t set up a PIN by 12/31/21 we will not be able to assist you over the phone. To access your account, you will be required to go into a store location and show a photo ID.

What about the password I already set up?
If you previously set up a password, it needs to be replaced with a six-digit PIN by 12/31/21.

Why is a PIN safer than a password?
PINs are currently considered to be the industry standard for protecting customers’ personal and account information. With a six-digit PIN there are one million possible combinations, making it far more challenging for someone to crack it.

Is this account PIN the same as my password for Nsight’s SmartHub?
No, the PIN will be used when you reach out to us via call or chat for account information or to make changes to your account. The password you set up to log into Nsight’s SmartHub will remain the same.
